NACo releases new issue brief on resilient coastal counties
NACo has released a new publication, Building Resilient Coastal Communities: Counties and the Digital Coast. Coastal counties face considerable challenges in fostering the growth of resilient communities through reliable, unbiased data and tools. The Digital Coast partnership has enjoyed great success assisting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Coastal Services Center develop tools, programs, workshops and assessments to help coastal counties access greater resources to combat the effects of sea level rise, flooding and habitat loss. NACo produces childhood obesity prevention resources
NACo has two new issue briefs on childhood obesity prevention — Food Access Solutions to Create Healthy Counties and County Health and County Park and Recreation Department Partnerships to Create Active, Healthy Counties. Also, NACo’s Healthy Counties Database has been updated with new examples of counties that have implemented healthy eating and active living programs and policies to prevent childhood obesity.
