County consolidates services with state to offer one-stop shopping

Abstract:
Macomb County residents needing clerk/register of deeds services can now get them at their local secretary of state office. The clerk/register of deeds office visits each of the county secretary of state offices annually. Not only does this bring clerk/register services to the residents to save them a trip to the county seat, it also allows for one-stop shopping. Residents needing their birth record to get a driver’s license or passport can handle both requests at the same time. The mobile office is set up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. allowing residents to do business during their lunchtime if needed.
