Advancing Health Communications

Macomb County, MI
Program Year: 2016

The Macomb County Health Department (MCHD) Cleo/Streem Communications program is an enterprise technology solution that provides mass faxing, broadcast messaging and secure file sharing. The faxing capabilities of the system are called Streem Print and allows users to send and receive faxes from their computers without the need for a physical fax machine. This is accomplished through: a desktop program, supported software applications, desktop and web-based email clients, and finally a secure web-based interface. The alert broadcast messaging capabilities, called Streem Notify, are accomplished through the same web-based interface as the faxing capability. This allows users to send messages and surveys to partners and capture input via SMS/Text, phone, and email. The secure file sharing function, called Streem Unify & Trust, is also accomplished through the same web-based interface as the prior functions. It allows a user to collaborate with trusted partners by providing an encrypted cloud storage system for large files and storing the information locally on the County’s servers. The Cleo Streem program’s purpose is to expand the Health Department’s current faxing, file sharing, and messaging capabilities to make them more efficient, effective, and economical. The outcomes of which will result in the increased ability to share information clearly, quickly, and securely while using less resources.
